Overall, this was exactly what I want in a YA mystery/thriller. I enjoyed discovering everyone’s secrets and trying to piece together what was happening. But with that comes plenty of secrets, and hidden skeletons in her closet and in her group of friends. She goes to a super fancy boarding school, has the perfect boyfriend and all the best clothes, purses and shoes- she has millions of followers on social media and plenty of brand deals. To the outside world, Summer is living the dream. In Live Your Best Lie, we meet our main character Summer. I was hooked until the very end, and I loved the twists and turns. Who can you trust? Who are your friends? What do people know about your life? This novel is super timely and it is told in multiple POVs interspersed with social media posts and flashbacks, which made me fly through the book. We all know the world of social media is fake, and that is a major element in this story. It follows a popular social media influencer who is murdered after someone posted a death treat/warning on her social media account. Live your Best Lie is a fascinating concept.
